Hiring Drama Instructors & Camp Counselors | Northern Virginia


Moonlit Wings Productions is seeking Drama Instructors and Camp Counselors to join our team of teaching artists throughout Northern Virginia. This is a part-time, contract opportunity ideal for actors, theatre educators, and creatives who enjoy working with kids and teens.

For nearly 20 years, Moonlit Wings Productions has been a leading provider of theatre-for-youth programs in Northern Virginia. We offer award-winning performing arts experiences for kids ages 7–14 and teens ages 14–18, and have been recognized as “Best Arts Program” by Washington Magazine readers.

Program Overview


Positions are seasonal and part-time, with flexible scheduling based on availability. We provide lesson plans, program materials, and training to support all instructors and counselors.


Programs include:

  • After-school and evening acting classes (7–10 week sessions)

  • Day camps during school breaks and summer


Schedules may range from 1–3 hours on select days for classes or full-day weekday schedules for camps.



Pay

  • Classes: Starting at $30/hour, DOE

  • Camps: $500–$525+ per week, DOE


Rates vary based on experience, scheduling, and program needs.

Internships for college credit and volunteer opportunities are also available.



Responsibilities

  • Teach acting, improvisation, and theatre fundamentals using provided materials

  • Create a positive, structured, and engaging learning environment

  • Manage classrooms and support student development

  • Communicate professionally with families and staff

  • Serve as a positive role model for students


Requirements

  • 1+ year teaching or childcare experience

  • 1+ year performing arts or theatre experience

  • Ability to commute to program locations in Northern Virginia

  • Contract position (1099)
