Fairfax County, VA: Hiring Drama Instructors/Camp Counselors - Teach Acting To Kids Ages 7-14!
ABOUT
Moonlit Wings Productions is the leading producer of theater-for-youth in Fairfax County, VA, right outside of Washington DC, with award-winning Performing Arts programs for kids ages 7-14 and teens ages 14-18.

Our Drama Instructors/Camp Counselors work seasonally and part-time to teach at various venues in Fairfax County. Classes run up to 7 weeks and meet once a week with a presentation for family and friends on the final class. Seasonal camps focus to put on a play and are offered during student holidays (winter break, spring break and summer).
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned using provided materials and program framework.

Prepare lessons in acting, improvisation, and theatre arts.

Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflects accommodation for individual needs of students assigned.

Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the student code.

Create a classroom environment conducive to learning.

Manage student behavior in the classroom and administer discipline according to board policies, regulations, and IEP.

Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students and their parents.

Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members.

Participate in the district staff development program.
-
Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible.

Program materials/scripts will be provided.

Must be able to commute and self-transport to programs in Fairfax County, VA.
EXPERIENCE:

teaching or childcare: 1 year min. (Required)

POSITION DATES & TIMES
HIRING FOR WEEKLY CLASSES AND FOR SEASONAL CAMPS AT VARIOUS LOCATIONS IN FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA.

Various dates and times year-around, please email info@moonlitwings.org to request drama instructor class openings.
Classes meet once a week for 90-minutes and run for 7-weeks with lessons in acting and putting on a short play for ages 7-14. Instructors often teach up to two classes back to back (for a total of three hours) during the week.
*CAMP* HOURS
9am to 4pm EST Monday-Friday
Camps meet weekdays from Monday to Friday and run one or two weeks. Camps meet over winter break, spring break and run all summer from June to August.

SALARY/RATES

Camps pay $500 to $525+ per week DOE

Classes pay $20 to $30 per hour DOE

Pay based on experience and budget per program
